Axel Witsel

Axel Witsel is by far the best defensive midfielder in the Bundesliga. He may not be the fastest, most agile, or even most technical. But Axel WItsel’s game smarts are far more advanced than any European counterpart in the Bundesliga. His pure intelligence carries him above all other players. His positioning is always on point and he created a goal for BVB against Augsburg in Bundesliga Matchday 1. Basically Axel Witsel is dribbling to the left wing slowly. He then changes pace and fakes a pass to Dortmund’s left back Schorr but keeps the ball and accelerates past toward the 18-yard box playing a low cross across goal to Jaden Sacho who scores. Though when he make the fake pas (angling his hips toward his left back) the defender who was marking him took the bait and feel off balance when he accelerated past him.
