"Lion Down" Analysis Stereotypes

In the novel “Lion Down” by Stuart Gibbs on page 6 the author scribes, “‘You are a serious fashion disaster,’ Summer informed me as we lugged the fish cannon into the exhibit. ‘You don’t look much better,’ I told her, pulling out my phone. ‘Maybe I should take your photo,’ ‘Don’t you dare!’” This quote shows, Summer has a certain type of fan base that would obviously be as obsessed with fashion as Summer seems. Since her fanbase is so heavily filled by teenage girls, Summer has to look her best whenever she posts an image of herself on social media. Though in the actual story Summer is regarded as actually not so intense about her fashion and how she looks. For most of the story she runs around the park solving crimes with Teddy. Although during this period she is fully disguised in park themed (over sized) gear. She looks like any other hyped up teenage tourist when she is with Teddy. Also, because she wears pink as her trademark color when she is not (i.e. when she is wearing FunJungle gift shop clothes) “fellow” tourist don’t even look twice.
